Spain has the largest area of land dedicated to viticulture of any country in the world and is the third largest wine producing country after France and Italy.
Though he died over thirty years ago, the effects of Franco's dictatorship on Spain's wine industry continued long after his passing. Spain used to be a closed society, but in the last ten years or so we've seen the flowering of the fall of the Franco regime. Now Spain is finally becoming a big player in the international marketplace.

“Good value” was always a word attached to Spanish wines, but nowadays quality has become part of the equation and about ten years ago, higher quality Spanish wines erupted like a volcano.

As the Spanish say- “vino, sol y aire, y seras rico como nadie” – “with wine, sun and fresh air, you’ll be the richest man alive.”
